Why I Love Soccer

I love soccer because it makes me feel like I am part of this world.
It is really fun if you know how to play, the strategy, the angles and outsmarting the other players. Personally, my favorite part is when I tackle a boy when we are both going for the ball and they are surprised that it was a girl that knocked them down. :)

A Soccer Blooper -

One time when I was a fifth grader I tripped on a shoelace in practice. I ended up doing a triple somersault plus a few tumble rolls. I ended up last face up, I saw stars for a second. I didn't cry or whine, but it just hurt, A LOT! A little ibuprofen and an ice cream cone made me feel a little better.
True story!

Homeschool Goes Haywire

Had a problem on an online class.
It an education discovery class where you watch videos that travel all over the world and learn about countries and people there. Pretty easy and interesting. So far I like it alright.

I have watched several videos so far and somehow the course is not working right. After both quizes today I got a 0%!!! I reviewed my answers and I am positive I am right.  Now it says I didn't even watch the videos. grrrrr

My mom was calm and emailed the website. I was not calm. At all. I was freaking out actually. I am 13 - I still do that sometimes. Hopefully not often as I used too.

I will go back to my online Spanish course which I am getting an A+ to sooth my wounded soul.

I might need chocolate too. I am not saying...just saying.

My Adventures in Babysitting

Imagine a small plastic table with seven  3 yr olds, all with crayons and paper. One gets the bright idea, every time, to stab the table with the crayon. The others join in chorus. They need to work on their drumming skills. :) But that was better than when the crayon throwing got out of hand.

A different week they brought out paint jars and we did hand prints as a craft project. There was more paint on the clothes than on the paper.

I am still trying to block out what happened when the glue came out.

Things I love about my  3 yr old friends:

They dance with such abandon.

They can be sweet and like a little sister or brother sometimes when they grab your leg and won't let go.

They have an unlimited supply of ideas on how to use a toy in a completely unintended fashion.

I feel honored to have the chance to take care of all my little friends in the Garden Patch room every few weeks. They are teaching me so much.

Emma Jo - 7th grade

Emma Jo here, starting 7th grade and, YES, I am homeschooled.

This year's courses are pretty traditional, added Spanish with Rosetta Stone. Very interesting. They throw you in without a net. No pesky English words to confuse you. Just straight Spanish and you get to figure it out. It's kind of fun trying to figure out with pictures to start with.

I do enjoy the comfy clothes part of homeschooling. We all would work better in pajama pants, I just know it.

I get to spend a lot less time getting things done. Without all the distractions, like classmates talking and the trouble makers.

Just grateful to have a more peaceful school journey. I still get to play soccer and basketball, so I am good.

Still wondering if my guitar lessons are going to take affect. I should probably practice more...
